Best & Most Expensive Paddles for Kayaking in 2022

We've narrowed it down to the top kayak paddles after analyzing the most expensive brands and models on the market. We've gathered the top carbon fiber, fiberglass, and aluminum paddles for your perusal.

Werner Camano Carbon Straight Shaft Kayak Paddle

Though it's price seems to be daylight robbery, you should buy this without any hesitation if you have a big-budget.

One of the most expensive kayak paddles. It's certainly worth the money to get a good, decent, lightweight kayak paddle.

Paddles for a low-angle paddling technique like the Werner Camano Carbon Kayak Paddle are among the most popular on the market. It provides the ideal blend of light swing weight and smooth forward strokes thanks to its mid-sized blades.

When facing a severe headwind, the blade angle can be adjusted in 15 degree levels, but I like to keep it at zero degrees until it is absolutely necessary. After a few strokes, mud tends to slip off the blade and the paddles are quite simple to clean.

For most men, strong women, and medium to strong paddlers, the Camano's blade size is ideal. The Camano is designed for low-angle paddling, which is a highly effective paddling technique that involves twisting your torso rather than bending your elbows. As a result, you will be able to paddle for a long period of time without feeling weary or uncomfortable. The paddle's two-piece design makes it simple to store and travel.

Werner also offers the Little Dipper, which has a smaller blade with the same form as the Big Dipper. Smaller paddlers and those who like smaller blades can benefit from the Little Dipper.

Cons

  • Overpriced
AQUA BOUND Sting Ray Hybrid 2-Piece Kayak Paddle

Totally satisfied with the build quality and weight

Lightweight and cutting through the water Smoothly.

The Aqua-Bound Sting Ray paddle is much lighter than my previous paddle. Even though the blades are a little smaller than my previous paddle, I saw no difference in performance. Exactly what I was looking for! The performance of this paddle is really great.

What a marvel the Aqua Bound Hybrid really is! It's about 30oz and can be used with a 60° angle on the right or left hand. We paddled in the river for almost two hours and I scarcely felt the weight of the paddle.

All around the bay, ocean (on little-wind days), and river we kayak. No white water, fairly calm.

The blade angle selection is properly indicated and simple to adjust and modify, and the ferrule is superb with no wiggle. I'll continue to use it, but I'm confused as to why the producer found it essential to knurl the blade as well.

Three-hole ferrules with Posi-Lok ferrule are included in this paddle. The three-hole configuration provides a straight line with a 45-degree offset in both directions. The Posi-Lok allows for 15 degree offsets in both directions.

In addition, the drip ring shields your hand from water spray, ensuring that your strokes are always precise. The Aqua-Bound Sting Ray kayak paddle is the first choice of most adventure seekers.

The paddles from Aqua-Bound have a wide variety of functions to let you discover new destinations. To handle vigorous strokes, this two-piece carbon fiber kayak paddle is built to be durable but flexible. The blade is strengthened and features feathering options that can be customized.

Specs & Features:

  • Length: 86’’ to 94’’ (220cm to 240cm)
  • Weight: 30.5 oz (864g)
  • Shaft: 2 piece adjustable carbon fiber composite
  • Blade: 18” long (46cm) and 6” (15cm) wide
  • Pros

    • Reinforced blade
    • A well-thought-out design
    • Comes with the three hole ferule
    • Super lightweight and comfortable
    • Posi-Lok ensures a hard connection
    • Your hand stays dry thanks to the rubber drip ring

    Cons

    • Pricey a bit, but the pricing is good for the quality you get
    • It doesn't have posilock offset system, but many paddlers don't count this
Werner Camano Premium Fiberglass Kayak Paddle

If you are looking for a higher performance paddle that is perfect for longer trip, this is the best option for you.

Using a variety of parameters, this paddle is among the best available. By using fiberglass laminate blades, this good looking paddle was able to distinguish out from the competition. Camano's Smart View mechanism is also better than the snap button found on many inexpensive paddles, which is why we choose it for our review.

I've become a "paddle snob," as other reviewers have just said, after purchasing this paddle. This paddle is 230cm long, whereas the Werner Carbon Cyprus paddle is 210cm long, which I also possess. Both are very low weight, well-built, and they cut through the water with little resistance whatsoever. You can paddle for miles without getting tired or experiencing any discomfort in your arms or shoulders.

It's true that they're expensive. However, I am confident in my purchase since I feel I received my money's worth. There's no other product like it in terms of quality, design, and functionality. The locking mechanism of this paddle is great, too.

That's why I spent so much time and money picking out a touring kayak and paddle that could match up to my expectations. Kayaking to shore for the first time, I couldn't stop smiling and telling my companion, "I have experienced PERFECTION!" With a regular recreational kayak and non-Werner fiberglass paddle, my companion floundered farrr behind in a standard recreational kayak and was unable to keep up.

However, I am certain that I received my money's worth from this purchase. Furthermore, I would strongly advise any potential purchasers to use them.

    Specs & Features:

    • Blade Size: 52 x 16 cm / 650 sq cm
    • Weight: 28 oz / 793.79 g
    • Blade Shape: Low Angle
    • Blade Material: Fiberglass
    • Offset - Paddle: Adjustable

    Pros

    • Lighter
    • Durable
    • High-value
    • Ease of adjustment
    • Dihedral blade design
    • Excellent performance
    • Locking Mechanism Security
    • Aqua-bound and Wilderness system

    Perception Universal Recreation-Touring Kayak Paddle

This well-constructed paddle is very appealing to look at. It has served me well. I saw a few scratches on the very edge of the blade after using the paddle for 50 yards in muddy and silty water, pushing myself off of reeds and rocks, and scratching the ground when paddling in shallow regions. Yet it looked brand new. Furthermore, nothing appeared to attach to it. It floats almost too nicely.

In my memory, there was just one occasion when I had to really wash the mud off of it. Even after more than 50 miles of usage and 15 or so trips, it still looks like new. When you really push the blades, they do bend a little, but only after a lot of effort.

Although the handle has been flattened on one side, it is not a fault; nonetheless, it would be useful if the maker were more upfront and informative about this feature. Some buyers think that the paddle is damaged, so they return it without realizing it. Be aware this is a long paddle, so it may not be a good fit if you're short. My 5-foot-5-inch son has used the paddle a few times and has had no issues, despite the paddle's length being theoretically too long for him. Drip rings work well, the paddle is light and comfy, and the paddle is robust enough for pushing off a gravel bar or low place.

The order was sent quickly, in fantastic shape, and there were no complications. I will gladly buy from this company again.

    Specs & Features:

    • Length: 90.6’’ (230cm)
    • Weight: 33 oz (936g)
    • Shaft: 2 piece adjustable aluminum shaft

    • Best for touring
    • Responsive handle
    • Sturdy and durable

AQUA BOUND Sting Ray Carbon 2-Piece Kayak Paddle

Better than expected. Excellent lightweight low-angle paddle. Nicely made with clever angle adjustment. Makes My Shoulders Feel 10 Years Younger. More better! Much easier paddling.

Today I used this paddle to make an experiment for the first time. Spending over $200 for a paddle is an unnecessary waste of money. If it wouldn't impress me, I made a plan to return it as soon as possible. This paddle truly impressed me in order for me to decide to retain it.

I kayaked twice as far as I had originally planned. I had no idea how much of a difference a paddle could make until I tried it. Even though I seldom use high angle paddles on windy days, this one proved its worth on a windy one. After 6 miles, I began descending at a low angle, which was still fantastic.

This paddle has sparked a deep passion in me. I honestly thought I'd be disappointed and return it, but no way. Although I have never worked with a Warner or a high-end paddle, this is incredible compared to the aluminum shaft plastic paddles I am used to using on the water.

Once I got adjusted to the weight difference, which took about half an hour, I was fascinated. Make a good decision for yourself. If you're serious about your kayaking hobby—not just for a few hours each week—and want to travel far and wide, this is the best option for you.

Remember, If your stoke is not proper, you will get blade flutter.

Last week, we bought two of these paddles and put them to the test on the water-body over the weekend. Considering the price, I believe it's an excellent paddle.
